The Dubrovnik Good Food Festival was held from 20 to 23 October, with a 200 meter long buffet in the main street Stradun marking the end of both the festival and the tourist season!
Over several days, both residents of Dubrovnik as well as visitors could take part in an exciting program at the food festival, which featured tours, presentations, cooking shows, wine tastings, courses in pasta, seafood and Indian food - to name a few.
To mark the end the festival as well as the tourist season, a record long tables was set up throughout the main street in Dubrovnik.
Hotels and restaurants from both Dubrovnik and the region showed up with their best dishes.
Fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, sweet and salty. Cheeses and hams were served together with local wines and the mood was high.
Close to 1,000 people had bought tickets to the long table, being a charity function benefiting the local children's hospital.
- This is a great success, Jelka Tepsic from the tourist office in Dubrovnik said with a smile. We'll showcase the best of Dubrovnik to both locals and visitors. In addition, we collect money for an important and good cause!
Despite the fact that the calendar showed late October, the weather was at its finest. With blue skies and well over 20 degrees, the atmosphere was good and the streets were packed.
And the audience was obviously hungry. In just over an hour, the long buffet was completely empty!
